The 2013 Tour continues with a look into the Arts Networks!

Arts leaders need to address the many areas of impact the arts have on community development.  Representatives from several of these areas have asked for more formalized programs to address their needs. As such, we have developed several targeted networks that are represented by national councils to address specific issues for their constituent groups, provide insight and direction for programs and tools, and offer an opportunity for leaders from across the country to become directly involved on a national level. Targeted networks represented include:
Arts Education NetworkLearning and participation in music, dance, theater, and the visual arts are vital to the development of our children and our communities. Through advocacy, research, partnerships, and professional development, Americans for the Arts strives to provide and secure more resources and support for arts education through the Arts Education Network.
Business Volunteers for the Arts®
Business Volunteers for the Arts® (BVA) is a core program of Americans for the Arts' national private sector network. The BVA program is operated in 13 locations around the United States with the goals of:
  • helping nonprofit arts organizations improve business practices, 
  • providing opportunities for business professionals to contribute to their community, and 
  • increasing business leadership for the arts.
Emerging Leader NetworkThe Americans for the Arts Emerging Leader Program works to identify and cultivate the next generation of arts leaders in America. It is an ideal way for new leaders to share their interests with others as they continue to develop their skills and their commitment to the arts. The Emerging Leader Program targets professionals who are either new to the field, with up to five years of experience, or are 35 years of age or younger.
Local Arts Network
The Local Arts Network provides a forum for members to discuss the successes and challenges that local arts agencies face across the nation. This network includes a listserv that provides a platform for questions to and from the field about tools, resources, and professional development that will help local arts agencies be more successful. Included in the listserv, members will receive a bi-monthly e-newsletter with the latest news and trends in local arts development.
Private Sector
Business partnerships with arts organizations are a key factor in enhancing the vitality of our communities nationwide. Americans for the Arts supports a network of Arts & Business Council Affiliates (ABC), Business Committee for the Arts affiliates (BCA), United Arts Fund affiliates (UAF) and Local Arts Agencies that work to build private-sector support for the arts. 
Public Art NetworkThe Public Art Network (PAN) develops professional services for the broad array of individuals and organizations engaged in the diverse field of public art. PAN is the only professional network in the United States dedicated to advancing public art programs and projects through advocacy, policy, and information resources to further art and design in our built environment.
State Arts Action Network
The State Arts Action Network (SAAN) serves as the meeting place for statewide multidiscipline arts service or advocacy organizations to gather to discuss common issues. The network meets in person twice each year, once in conjunction with Arts Advocacy Day in Washington, DC, and once at the Americans for the Arts Annual Convention. Additionally, the network hosts several professional development conference calls to discuss issues of interest and concern to its members.
United States Urban Arts Federation
The United States Urban Arts Federation (USUAF) is an Americans for the Arts alliance of the chief executives of local arts agencies in the nation's 60 largest cities. These leaders advocate, network, and meet to discuss the social, educational, and economic impact of the arts in their regions.
